A bottle of champagne decorated with ribbons, sweets or napkins using the decoupage technique can be an original gift or give a festive look to the New Year's table. Learn how to decorate a bottle of champagne for the New Year, and choose the most suitable option to create an unusual souvenir.

Preparatory stage

Before decorating a bottle of champagne with your own hands, you need to properly prepare it:

  1. If you decorate a bottle of sparkling drink on the eve of the holiday, try not to stir it up during the process. Hold the champagne in a cool place before working.
  2. To remove the label from the container, moisten it and leave it for a while. After 5 minutes, the paper will easily go away if you scrape it with a knife. Remove the remains of glue, wiping the surface soaked with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol or vodka.
  3. To attach tapes, paper, beads or tinsel to the bottle, use silicone glue - the quickly setting mass is odorless and can be easily removed from glass or candy wrappers. A double sided tape can also be useful.

Decorating the bottle with ribbons

Decorating a bottle of champagne with ribbons is simple, and the finished product will look spectacular.

Materials and tools

You will need:

  • 5 m satin ribbon;
  • 3 m daisy tape;
  • silicone or PVA glue;
  • tassel;
  • bottle;
  • scissors.

Operating procedure

Attach the satin ribbon to the neck at the point where it begins to expand. Connect the two ends of the ribbon, mark this area and cut the ribbon. Apply glue to the bottle with a brush, then gently glue the cut strip.

After decorating the bottle with a napkin, you can additionally decorate it with ribbons, tinsel, candy or sparkles.

Materials and tools. Prepare:

  • a bottle of champagne;
  • primer;
  • fine-grained sandpaper;
  • napkins with a beautiful pattern;
  • PVA glue or special tool for decoupage;
  • acrylic paints;
  • scissors;

  • tassel;
  • foam sponge or sponge.

The primer can be found in the building materials department, and varnish is not necessary if you do not plan to keep the bottle as a souvenir.

Operating procedure

Step-by-step description of decoupage champagne bottles:

  1. Remove the label from the glass, wash and dry the bottle well. Using a sponge, coat the walls with a primer: soak it in a solution and, pressing, clean all surfaces. When the first layer dries, apply a second.
  2. Leave the bottle for a while so that the primer is completely dry. After sanding the surface with sandpaper.
  3. Cut out of the napkin that part of the picture that you want to transfer to the bottle. Carefully remove the top layer, tear off the edges of the workpiece so that they become uneven.
  4. Try on a napkin - putting it to the bottle, select the optimal location of the picture.
  5. Take a brush, dip it in PVA glue or a special tool designed for decoupage, and apply over the napkin attached to the glass with soft neat strokes. You need to drive with a brush from the center of the part to the edges - a thin paper will not grimace, it will fall flat.
  6. When the first layer of glue is dry, apply a second.
  7. Coat the whole bottle with water-based varnish and let it dry.
  8. Now you can start decorating the top of the bottle. Possible options: tie a neck with a tinsel or a rain, make a satin ribbon bow, glue pine cones.
