The vast majority of hallways in ordinary houses have small dimensions. Expand the space at least visually capable interior white. Even the smallest hallways make white and stylish colors chic. For fans of custom solutions, there are still options in red or black and white.
Monochrome interiors to look organic, are made out according to certain rules.
A continuous monotonous interior in white colors will easily turn even a small room into a hospital corridor. Solid red will overwhelm. Selection of individual segments eliminates this dissonance, makes the interior of the hallway attractive and functional.
Placing furniture, first of all they determine the location of the most visible object, that is, the wardrobe. It is placed in such a way that access to adjacent rooms is not blocked and there are no obstacles when opening doors. In the square or narrow hall buy compact corner models.
As a rule, from the opposite side place the ottoman and shoemaker.
Linoleum or tile in the hallway are considered the most suitable. A floor that imitates wood or stone in the hallway is valued for its practicality. Tiled floor looks impressive, but the white tile, other light options make inevitable increased care. If there is no readiness for this, it is better to choose a less-branded tile option. Laminate is not very suitable, because it is badly affected by intensive cleaning, inevitable in the hallway.
The usual solution for most apartments is wallpapering. Not ordinary paper types are suitable, but those that can be cleaned or washed frequently. Decorative textured plaster of gray-light shades looks very advantageous. In addition, it does not require special care.
Oak has earned a good reputation. Bleached panels - the optimal solution. Their solidity will soften the mirror.
Festive option, although practical people white hallways are not particularly in demand because of the increased marcos.
Walls, floor, ceiling
The stylization of the walls under the white brick in the interior of the hallway, an embossed canvas with the same white pattern or with ornaments of a different color, for example, gray-smoky, looks organic. Wallpapers can be chosen in color, and white can be left only with furniture and accessories.
The room with the white floor is very beautiful, especially glossy, but slippery gloss for the hallway is not very suitable. Practical matte surfaces are safer. The covering from a bleached oak, light northern wenge, tiled stylization of a natural stone solve all problems. If you don’t want to mess with tiles, linoleum will do: white, gray-bluish or in the color of the decor.
To significantly increase the space, the white entrance hall in a modern style gets a shining ceiling. A large mirror on the cabinet or wall will support this white gloss effect.
A white suite can look cumbersome, especially large white wardrobes in the hallway or chest of drawers. Make them more elegant able to finish the right color. The corner models are almost imperceptible, however they are executed in the same decor as the main wardrobe.
Smaller things: a shoebox, a fragile console table, a small ottoman can be both pure white and combined. It all depends on the tastes of the owners.
To prevent the premises from causing undesirable associations, the design of the white hallways provides for the dilution of the white background with colored accents. In the decoration of the premises of different styles they are different:
- gold, blue - classic;
- black - minimalism;
- red - avant-garde, modern;
- brown or green - eco;
- gray-white, metal - high-tech.
Experts believe that in any case the hallway in white should be made out in no more than three colors: white for the walls, light wood on the floor (preferably oak or wenge), a little bit of any dark, so that the room does not "float."
Provence style hallway suggests white wallpaper in the hallway: clean or with a barely noticeable pattern in the main colors of the style. They should not be more than three. Wood furniture, simple shapes, reminiscent of rural. Bleached oak is often taken for it. If means allow, the furniture from light wenge is bought.
The decor is white or in a very light pastel gray scale: white cabinets plus color inserts or fragments. The console table is also acceptable, but in a more solid than usual version, so as not to violate the style.
The red hallway is a popular, albeit non-standard solution. Red embodies energy, movement, appeal. This in itself is wonderful, but an overabundance of bright hue is disturbing, even suppressing, therefore the main thing in the design of the hallway: an accurate dosage of red, combining it with more calm colors. Here modular hallways are especially valuable, the bright segments of which are arranged throughout the whole room, and not a solid array. There are a few more rules:
- For a large hallway, red walls and ceilings are allowed. In a more modest corridor, bright surfaces are smaller.
- If the walls and ceiling are red, then the furniture is needed in neutral colors.
- Furniture in bright colors is arranged with walls and ceiling in light shades.
For each style is chosen its shade and materials. In hi-tech it is saturated red with gloss, modern hangers and metal accessories. The classics are harmonious in the color of wenge, with furniture made of fine wood (for example, oak).
If completely red walls are unacceptable, but such a color in the interior is desirable, classical hallways may have some noticeable elements. That is, the light walls and the ceiling are framed by bright stickers. They are complemented by the same juicy ottoman or obuvnitsa.
One of the most sought-after duets is red and white. Against the background of bright walls, a snow-white stand-console or an elegant white stool look new.
Black and white entrance hall
Black and white hallway suggests two options for registration, depending on the size of rooms. Small ones will increase the predominance of white, a large black dominant style will add. It is necessary that any one color prevail, an equal ratio makes the interior too variegated. Although the angular models of isometric black and white segments look gorgeous. Color ratio 50x50 is permissible in accessories:
- a hanger in the hallway with a white wooden base and black hooks or vice versa;
- shoemaker with alternating shelves in color;
- console table with different table tops and legs;
- ottoman with halves, top and bottom in different colors or in another pattern.
Hallways are almost always small, so white is taken as the basis, and harmony is difficult to achieve with black. The only option of black, visually expanding space - gloss. It makes the floor or ceiling more voluminous, as if lifting the latter.
If whiteness is chosen for the ceiling, it is accentuated by a black border, floors or pattern. By the same method make out a white wardrobe in the hallway and other furniture.
Dark is better to do the floor and areas immediately adjacent to the front door: this is the stamp.
The floor in the hallway may not be completely black, but in the form of a mosaic or a two-color pattern. If funds are available, a combination of bleached oak and black wenge is selected in the array.
Modular hallways - a real salvation for owners of small or non-standard configuration of the premises. Any item can be installed exactly where it will be in place. Corner options are more compact, and perpendicular mirrored facades create interesting effects.
However, the modular design has one major drawback. It must be installed on the floor, ideally leveled, otherwise the modules will not fit together, will "lean" on each other, which is unacceptable for furniture.
